Lotus Reveals Emira First Edition Price and Specs

Lotus has been talking about its Emira First Edition for a while, though many details were a mystery. Thankfully, the UK automaker has now shared the Emira First Edition details and promises that it has the most powerful production four-cylinder engine in the world. The four-cylinder engine in question is a custom version of the AMG M139 direct injection engine producing 208 horsepower per liter. The engine has a total power output of 360 horsepower with power going to the wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which is a first for the Lotus brand.

The First Edition car rides on 20-inch ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels with two-piece brake discs with calipers painted red, black, yellow, or silver. Lotus fits it with the Lower Black Pack as standard providing front bumper air vanes, front splitter, side sills, and rear diffuser in gloss black. Six exterior colors are available, including Seneca Blue, Magma Red, Hethel Yellow, Dark Verdant, Shadow Gray, and Nimbus Gray.

Seven different interior colors are available, including red, black, gray, and tan Nappa leather. Black Alcantara with red, yellow, or gray stitching is also available. The driver and passenger sit in 12-way adjustable heated seats with two memory presets. Three option packages are standard with the vehicle, including the Lotus Drivers Pack providing Tour or Sport suspension and a choice of Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Sport or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The package also includes a Track Mode ESP.

The Design Pack provides privacy glass, sports pedals, and a black Alcantara headliner. The fitted Convenience Pack provides front parking sensors, a backup camera, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming mirrors, and a rear luggage net. In Europe, the car will start at £71,995, with the US base price at $85,900. Deliveries will start towards the end of the year with reservations beginning April 8.
