The Lamborghini Urus is one of the most powerful and agile SUVs ever made. But Lamborghini being Lamborghini, they thought they could do better. So they got to work on an even higher-performance version of – the Urus Performante. This upgraded model has more power, weighs less, and has improvements to its aerodynamics and more.
To start with, the twin-turbo V8 under the hood in this high-performance model produces 657 horsepower and 627 lb-ft. of torque. Plus, they managed to shave off 103.6 pounds from the Performante’s curb weight, primarily by replacing the metal hood with a carbon fiber version. There’s also a new tailgate spoiler for improved downforce and a big carbon fiber diffuser. Those changes result in a 0-to-62 mph time of 3.3 seconds, or 0.3 faster than the base Urus. Top speed for the sporty SUV is still 190 mph.
This model also rides 20mm lower and 16 mm wider, and its brakes have been upgraded to shave off speed even more quickly. The Lambo rolls on enormous 22-inch or 23-inch wheels, and the smaller wheels can be equipped with Pirelli Trofeo R racing tires. It’ll slow from 62 to 0 mph in just 107.9 feet, an improvement of 2.6 feet of stopping distance. It’s also got a new Rally driving mode.
Lamborghini plans to start delivering the Urus Performante in late 2022. It’s U.S. retail price starts at $260,676, or about $35,000 more than the already spendy base Urus. But if you’re shopping Lamborghinis on price, you probably shouldn’t be buying one.
