2025 Nissan Frontier Adds More Towing Capacity and Long-wheelbase Across Lineup

Nissan’s popular mid-sized truck is about to be refreshed. The 2025 Nissan Frontier offers minor upgrades compared to the current iteration, though nearly all of them are welcome and practical, such as the new standard driver assistance features.
As with most minor vehicle refreshes, the 2025 Frontier looks a lot like the 2024 model. It has a slightly boxier front fascia and thicker black trim, but that’s about it. SV trims do get 17-inch wheels as standard, and there’s also a new tailgate finisher for the PRO-X and PRO-4X.
Perhaps the update that prospective buyers will be most happy to hear is that the Crew Cab long-wheelbase configuration will no longer be exclusive to the SV, as SL and PRO-4X buyers can opt to have that 6-foot bed as well.
The 2025 Frontier’s towing capacity is also 500 lb. more across all grades compared to the current model, now maxing out at 7150 lb. The payload capacity remains the same at up to 1620 lb.
Nothing’s changed under the hood. The 3.8-liter V6 is still powerful enough after all, topping out at 310 horsepower and 241 lb-ft. of torque.
Inside, all 2025 Frontier trims get a telescopic-adjustable steering wheel. SL, PRO-X, and PRO-4X trims get a four-way passenger seat. Stepping up to the SV and above gets you two-way lumbar adjustment on the driver’s seat.
Another new feature for SV trims and higher is the 12.3″ infotainment display, which will also support wireless Android Auto connectivity alongside the current support for wireless Apple CarPlay connection. On the PRO-4X, the handy 360° camera can now be used at up to 12 mph instead of 6 mph, which makes it much more useful on trail rides.
Finally, more driver assistance tech will be available as standard features across all 2025 Nissan Frontier trims. That includes cruise control, blind spot warning, and a traffic alert when on reverse. Pricing and availability have not been announced as of this writing.
