The Lamborghini Temerario is the Huracán’s Hybrid Successor

Lamborghini completes its hybrid lineup with the introduction of the Huracán’s heir apparent, the Temerario. In a move that has many fans already lamenting the death of the V10, the new supercar pairs a V8 with three electric motors. If you thought you’d never live to see the day when a Lambo would have an all-electric mode, well, curse your good health.

Online haters really should reserve judgment until they see more of the Lamborghini Temerario in action because this brand-new powertrain is no slouch. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which is showcased openly at the car’s back, gets up to a staggering 10,000 RPM. The three electric motors bump up the car’s output to a maximum of 907 horsepower and 538 lb-ft. of torque. The result is a screamer that goes from 0 to 62 mph in 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 210 mph.

Housing the powertrain are the equally new all-aluminum frame and body. Lamborghini claims that the Temerario has 20% increased torsional stiffness compared to the Huracan, while adding more headroom and legroom alongside 112-liters (4.3 cubic feet) of storage under the front hood.

The sharp angles that define a Lambo continue to serve aerodynamics and cooling. In motion, air is directed from the air intakes and deflectors in the center of the daytime running lights, up the side radiators, then out to the wheels. The side mirrors also direct air to the side radiators for even more cooling. Up top, the integrated rear spoiler helps the Temerario achieve 103% more rear downforce compared to the Huracán. When kitted with the optional Alleggerita (“Lightweight”) package, which swaps various exterior and interior components to carbon fiber, the Temerario gets 158% more downforce than its predecessor.

You know you’re reading a Lamborghini press release when there’s a lengthy section about the engine sound. The company claims that there’s a “special connection between the engine banks” that enhances the sound coming from the V8. Together with the silencer box and the exhaust system, occupants should be able to hear and feel the difference between the Temerario’s 13 different driving modes. Even the all-electric driving mode has a quiet and “special sound”.

Speaking of the electric motors, two are mounted on the front axle while the third one is at the rear between the engine and the gearbox. The 3.8 kWh battery on the other hand sits in the central tunnel. Besides boosting the Temerario’s total power, the motors also enable electric torque vectoring for better cornering. Lamborghini claims that the e-axle and rear electric motor assist with braking “only when strictly necessary” to preserve a natural driving feel.

While continuing Lamborghini’s tradition of being named after fighting bulls, the Temerario is not immune to current trends. Inside, there’s a 12.3-in digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-in central display, and a 9.1-in front passenger display.  “If the pilot changes the driving mode, the display graphics change to match the drive”, says the press release. That must be painful to read for the person who wrote the engine sound section.

What is welcome news to future owners is the availability of physical controls on the steering wheel, including the customary start/stop button. Equally practical is the bubble roof design, which comfortably accommodates front passengers up to around 6’5″ even with racing helmets on.

While Lamborghini has not yet announced a starting price or a release date for the Temerario, Auto Evolution points out that car maker’s online configurator pegs the car at $357,621 in the US. The outlet also points to a supposedly official list of add-ons that says the car will be arriving not in the second half of 2025, but in 2026. There’s still time to get that money.
