Straight from the factory, the Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor are fast and powerful off-road vehicles. But if you’re one of those people like me who always craves more horsepower, you’re in luck. Ford Performance now offers a software-based tuning package that significantly increases horsepower and torque for the 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine.
Since the rugged SUV and truck share a platform and engine, their specs are quite similar under the hood. The standard Bronco’s engine is 418 horsepower and 440 lb-ft. of torque, while the Ranger has 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft. of torque. With the tuning package, both vehicles get a bump to 455 horsepower and 536 lb-ft. of torque. Not only that, the new tune gets into the power band much earlier, hitting peak power around 3000 RPM instead of 5000 RPM. That means faster launches and easier hill climbs. Ford provided these official charts to show the new horsepower and torque curves.
Buyers of the 2022-2024 Bronco Raptor and 2024 Ranger Raptor can purchase the calibration kits online for $825 and include a three-year/36,000-mile warranty when installed by a Ford dealer or ASE/Red Seal certified technician. Note that the calibrations are legal to install in all states other than California. Purchase links for the upgrades are listed below:
