4Runners start with a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder turbo iFORCE engine that produces 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft. of torque, while the higher-end models offer a hybrid i-FORCE MAX version of that drivetrain with 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft. of torque. The SR5, Sport, Sport Premium, and Limited will be available in 2WD and 4WD versions, while all other 4Runners are strictly 4WD.

All 4WD models have a two-speed transfer case with high/low range settings. Most grades seat five, while the SR5 and Limited will offer a three-row, seven-passenger configuration.

Fuel economy ranges from 20/26/22 (city/highway/combined) for the base 2WD versions to 23/24/23 for the top-of-the-line 4WD hybrid trims. We’ve also got curb weight details, with the SR5 2WD being the lightest at 4,445 pounds and the Platinum i-FORCE MAX tipping the scales at 5,390 pounds. Maximum towing weight has been spec’d at 6,000 pounds across the line-up. I’m surprised the more powerful engine doesn’t offer a different towing capacity. Still, I guess that’s offset by the added weight, and it’s easier to market a single towing figure, too.
