Toyota C-HR R-Tuned Is a 600 hp Compact Crossover

Toyota C-HR R-Tuned Is a 600 hp Compact Crossover
If there’s one thing you can count on at the SEMA show each year, it’s lots of amazing custom automotive builds, not just from small shops, but in the booths of major automotive manufacturers. One particularly awesome vehicle headed to the show floor in Las Vegas this week is Toyota’s tricked out C-HR R-Tuned. This impressive build takes the aggressively-styled compact crossover and turns it into a crazy-fast track beast.

ARES X-RAID Reinvents the Mercedes G-Class SUV

ARES X-RAID Reinvents the Mercedes G-Class SUV
The boxy Mercedes-Benz G-Class has an extremely distinctive look, but the guys at Modena, Italy coachbuilder ARES Design have their own vision for the rugged and powerful 4×4. Gone are the sharp, squared-off edges – replaced with rounded corners, fat wheel arches, and dramatic, distinctive styling that will have everyone scratching their heads in wonder as it drives by. The X-RAID starts out as a Mercedes AMG G63, but looks like a completely different – and much more awesome vehicle at the hands of ARES.

2018 Range Rover Velar First Drive: Sophistication Meets Capability

2018 Range Rover Velar First Drive: Sophistication Meets Capability
It’s been less than a year since Land Rover knocked our socks off with the 2017 Discovery. So what are the chances that a company with a history of few new models could pull off two solid entries in a single calendar year?

This Double-Wide Jeep Wrangler Doesn’t Fit in a Lane
I’ve seen plenty of wide-body and wide-track suspension kits, designed to give cars greater stability and room for wider tires, but these guys took vehicle widening to a whole new level. This crazy custom Jeep Wrangler turned up a few years ago in Morocco, and it’s completely insane.

2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV First Drive: EV = “Electric Value”

2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV First Drive: EV = “Electric Value”
Mitsubishi gave the Outlander a pretty dramatic design update back in 2016, which gave it bolder, more modern looks, and other refinements. In addition, the company has been selling a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant in Japan and much of Europe since 2013, where it is currently the best selling PHEV.

Land Rover Turns Jamie Oliver’s Discovery into a Kitchen on Wheels

Land Rover Turns Jamie Oliver’s Discovery into a Kitchen on Wheels
If you’re a famous celebrity chef, you’re running around all the time and probably don’t get to spend nearly as much time in the kitchen as you once did. For that reason, Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations decided to do something special for chef Jamie Oliver, and built him an awesome kitchen on wheels, based on the latest generation Land Rover Discovery. Other than the wacky wheel covers (which I’ll get to in a minute), it looks very much like any other Disco at first glance, but once you dig deeper, you’ll see that it’s got lots of fun tricks up its sleeves. Among its upgrades are a slow cooker under the hood, and a huge slide-out work surface with gas burners, a sink, and a 40″ flat screen TV on the end.

Drive the New BMW X3… on Mars

Drive the New BMW X3… on Mars
While I think it’s critical to take any vehicle you’re considering for an actual test drive, it’s kind of fun to see the sorts of things that automakers are starting to do with virtual reality to give people a small taste of what their vehicles are like.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio Takes Nürburgring SUV Crown
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is one of the best handling cars I’ve driven in the last year. I’ve yet to drive the Giulia’s crossover cousin, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, but word on the street is that it’s no slouch as SUVs go.

Suzuki e-Survivor Concept Looks Like Fun, But We’ll Never See It Stateside
Suzuki hasn’t sold its cars in the US since 2012, but their vehicles are still quite popular in Asia and other parts of the world. One car they still sell a lot of is the Suzuki Jimny, a series of compact 2-door mini SUVs they’ve been making since way back in 1970.

Tricked-out 1990 Land Rover Defender 110 for Sale

Tricked-out 1990 Land Rover Defender 110 for Sale
It’s been quite some time since the Land Rover Defender was sold here in the US. In fact, it was sold only from 1993 to 1997 due to ever-changing safety regulations. I’m hopeful that the Defender will be relaunched in the next couple of years, but there’s nothing quite like the rugged, boxy shape of a classic Defender. If I had the $99,000 to spare, I’d so run down to Bentley Gold Coast dealership here in Chicago and plunk down my money for this beauty, a 1990 Defender (presumably imported) that’s been loaded to the hilt. This awesome red and black Defender looks as good as new too, and appears to have been given the full Defender 110 treatment by East Coast Defender too.

2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Ups the Performance SUV Ante

2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Ups the Performance SUV Ante
Fresh for the 2019 model year, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo looks like it could be the performance SUV to beat once again. Over its lifetime, the styling of the Cayenne has gotten cleaner and more modern, and the 2019 models continue to evolve their design in this direction. But it’s less about its looks and more about what’s under the hood that could put the 2019 Cayenne Turbo at the top of the heap.
