Perhaps the most unusual concept car of all time (and that’s saying something), the 1967 Dodge Deora was like an adult-sized toy car. In fact, the award-winning car eventually was made into one of the original 16 Hot Wheels cars.

The McLaren M6GT was the first road-legal car that McLaren ever made. The car was meant to be a homologated version of the McLaren M6A Can-Am race car, and was powered by a Chevy V8 engine.

Shown for the first time at the 1969 Tokyo Motor Show, the EX-III was a sleek and hypermodern sports coupe. The car was designed in-house by Toyota, rather than by the typical European design firms used for concept cars at the time.

This incredibly cheesy commercial for the then newly released 1968 Mustang is a far cry from today’s youth-oriented ad campaigns for Ford’s pony car. And while the cast of characters are clearly different, the marketing message is largely the same that it is today – driving a Mustang will automatically free you from your hum-drum life.

While we’re big fans of the power and performance you can get in today’s Camaros, we’ve never been huge fans of their design – probably because all they ever remind us of is The Transformers’ Bumblebee.
