There’s no question that Apple and Porsche are two of the most iconic brand names in the history of modern business. Back in 1980, when Apple was still known as Apple Computer (and it still believed in colors) its branding featured heavily on one particular race team’s livery.

A white Lexus RX450h SUV was recently spied leaving an Apple facility, and the car was festooned with sensors and other hardware. Presumably this is the autonomous car Apple has been rumored to be working on.

The folks over at Motor Trend created a bit of a hubbub when they ran a feature on what they thought the Apple Car will look like. While renderings are nothing new to the world of the World Wide Web, people criticized how Motor Trend went about teasing the feature.

Ford has announced that it is expanding the capability of its SYNC in-car infotainment systems with the addition of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G LTE, and new AppLink apps. The addition of CarPlay lets SYNC 3 users get access to Maps, Messages, Phone, and Music on their iPhone via Siri voice control or touch screen access.

Prior to the its latest cars getting SYNC 3, Ford offered cars with MyFord Touch (aka SYNC 2). If you have a car equipped with that system, ranging from 2011 to 2016 models, a new update is available for you.

I find it rather annoying when people call or text me while I am driving. Driving and avoiding idiots texting and making calls while they are driving is a waste of time for the rest of us – never mind the safety implications.

Volvo has released interior images of its all-new XC90 SUV prior to revealing the new vehicle in its entirety at the 2014 Paris Auto Show this October. The focal point of the new interior is Volvo’s tablet-like touchscreen control console which we expect will run the Apple CarPlay system created under a Volvo/Apple partnership.

Volvo has announced a partnership with Apple to make their widely-used and hugely admired iOS operating system available to its drivers. The new user interface allows the driver to access the features of his or her iPhone directly through the center console touchscreen, voice commands and via steering wheel controls.
