Autobahn

In certain stretches of the Autobahn, those German cats get to take their cars on public roads and go pretty much balls out without fear of the police. The thing that I always find interesting about these high-speed Autobahn runs is that everyone on the road knows to GTFO when a faster car is overtaking.

In the States, if you hit triple-digit speeds on public roads and get caught, you go to jail, and your car gets impounded. In some parts of Germany’s Autobahn, there are no speed limits, and you can go as fast as you want.

Drivers in the US seem to be mostly idiots. They are more concerned with their phones and other nonsense than driving. Things seem a bit better in Europe, even though some folks still appear to be in the wrong lane of traffic when this boss ass Koenigsegg Agera R is dominating the left lane on the Autobahn.

When you think of the Buick brand, a day at the track isn’t exactly the first thing that pops to mind. But I’m here to tell you that Buick is waist-deep in the midst of a renaissance, offering cars that aren’t just more stylish than ever before, but are actually enjoyable to drive. 

We already know that the Gallardo’s successor is an impressive car, but we honestly haven’t seen one get anywhere near its top speed until now. In this video from TheGermanSupercars, we get to see POV footage of a shiny new Huracán hitting speeds up to 329km/h (~205mph) while zipping past other drivers on Germany’s Autobahn.

While those of us here in the U.S. have to deal with speed limits of 55mph to 75mph on most highways, in Germany they have these roads called Autobahns, which have no official speed limits for cars or motorcycles.
