Earlier this month, some details on the 2019 BMW M2 Competition leaked. BMW has now gone official with all the specs on the car. The big news is that M2 Competition buyers get the same engine found in the M3 and M4, just as the rumors suggested.

To bias myself here, I abhor seemingly random letters and numbers for car names in general. I believe the average consumer finds them confusing. It’s a trend that plagues the luxury car industry. Let’s just all agree to go back to calling cars by actual names already.

BMW has unveiled its latest 2 Series coupe and convertible cars. The revised 2 Series cars have new front end styling, upgraded headlamps, and new interior upgrades and connectivity. The LED headlights that are now standard are bi-LED units and can also be had as a fully-adaptive option.

BMW is talking up a new engine for its 2017 M240i Coupe and Convertible. Both of those cars get an upgraded inline 6-cylinder TwinPower engine that makes more power than the outgoing model. That new six produces 335 hp and 369 lb-ft.
