Bmw 8 Series

It’s not very often I get a chance to test multiple variants of the same vehicle. It’s nice when I do, as it really gives me a better perspective on its possibilities. So, when I got seat time in the 2020 BMW 840i coupe and then the convertible, I was very excited.

I recently had a chance to drive a 2019 BMW 850i convertible, and thought it was a very impressive ride indeed. It offered plenty of creature comforts inside, including a fancy crystal shift knob. But what really impressed me was just how fast and powerful it was for such a substantial car.

The new BMW 8-series looks like a pretty sweet ride already, but there’s just something about being able to drop the top while carving corners on a great road. Fortunately, BMW has ragtop fans covered with the new 8 Series Convertible.

Back in May, we got to hear the turbocharged 4.4L V8 under the hood of the new 8-series coupe growl. If you wanted to know more about the car, BMW has finally gone official with the pricing.

One of my favorite BMWs of all time was the 850CSi, the top-of-the-line version of the company’s 8-series grand tourer, which was produced back in the 1990s. Sadly, emissions standards ultimately killed this V12-powered beast, and eventually its less powerful, but no less foxy looking V8 brethren also went away.
