If you’ve ever wondered what it took to make a car that could drift like there’s no tomorrow, there’s much more to it than simply putting a powerful engine up front, connected to a rear-wheel drivetrain.

Stunt driver Mauro Calo has done stunt work for numerous car commercials and programs such as the UK edition of Top Gear and Autocar magazine. Mauro has just released a show reel which bears witness to some of his driving footage, and it’s filled with spectacular scenes of powerslides, jumps and drifts.

Driver Fredrik Sørlie took on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, with its unforgiving 13 miles of twists, turns and hills and had the nerve to drift what seems to be every one of the circuit’s 70+ corners while driving a Toyota Cressida.

If there’s one car that I’m dying to get behind the wheel of, it’s the Ferrari LaFerrari. This amazing hybrid is said to be the most fun of the current batch of hypercars, providing a more exciting and visceral ride than either the Porsche 918 Spyder or McLaren P1.

Red Bull sent Lebanese rally driver and drift racer Abdo Feghali to the hillside capital of Sarajevo, along with his Chevrolet Camaro. They stuck a taxi top light on the roof and took some local residents for the ride of their lives around the city.

I’ve seen tons of drifting footage over the years, but this is definitely the first time I’ve seen drifting captured from the top of the car and spinning freely around the car as it corners. Using a device called the RotoR – a swiveling dual camera mount and a pair of GoPro cameras, they were able to capture this cool footage of a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution doing what it does best, as it slides around corners on snow and ice.

While you’d think being confined to a wheelchair might limit your ability to race cars – especially dealing with the gas and brake pedals –  that didn’t stop Rob “Chairslayer” Parsons from continuing his career as a drift racer after a serious dirt bike accident left him severely injured back in 2011.

The Trotina Rally Team and driver Petr Šimurda took their 1986 Skoda 130 LR rally car to a crowded parking structure in Czechoslovakia to show off what they can do. Drifting around parked cars and through repair stall, Šimurda navigates the crowded lot with ease.

GoPro teamed up with Formula Drift racer Ryan Tuerck at the recent Tuerck’d Bash held at Pat’s Acres Racing Complex in Oregon. Tuerck and 11 of his fellow drift drivers showed up with the competition cars and all hit the track at the same time for a wild, 12-car tandem drift around the track.

What would you do if you owned an old Volvo BM Terrier farm tractor and had a automotive team at the ready? What about adding a roll cage, boosting the engine to 225 horsepower, reinforcing the suspension, adding a four-point harness, and taking the tractor out for a bit of drifting?

Drift champion, Vaughn Gittin Jr. makes a grocery run with his four-legged best friend, Brody the Boxer. But Brody isn’t happy just taking the Ford Fiesta ST to fetch groceries, so the smarmy canine turns off the traction control and the duo takes a chance to drift around an old gravel quarry.

Vaughn Gittin Jr took his Ford Mustang RTR Drift car to the Rudskogen Motorpark in Norway and, fortunately for us, filmmaker Andrew Laputka caught his incredible lap of the circuit on film. The footage was captured during the Gatebil event held at the track in July.

Rain on the ground can definitely give you more distance and cooler tires when drifting, but can also make it much more challenging to control your car. But a little rain doesn’t dissuade a drifter as skilled as Alexi from Noriyaro.com,
