Ford Mustang

We have to take all leaks and rumors with a grain of salt, but some details on the 2018 Mustang have surfaced that are apparently from a dealership employee who spent a bit of time with the order books for the forthcoming pony car.

Ford Performance has unveiled a new racing car that is eligible to compete in multiple racing series around the world. The car is based on the IMSA class-winning Shelby GT350R-C and has 5.2L V8, 6-speed paddle shift transmission, and dry-sump oil system. 

A very cool Mustang will be on display at SEMA from a new company in the automotive customization world called Zero to 60 Designs. Founded by former West Coast Customs Manager and Foose Designs COO Kenny Pfitzer, car the company has made is a one-of-a-kind prototype called the GTT (Grand Turismo Tribute.)

As usual, Ford will be on hand at SEMA this year, and will bring a slew of cool looking custom Mustangs along with. The first Stang here is from VMP tuning and is a 2017 GT painted up like a WWII fighter jet, complete with a pinup girl perched on the 5.0 logo. 

As we move into the 2017 model year, Chevrolet has been offering some massive discounts on the 2016 Camaro, with up to $12,000 off some V8-powered SS Camaros. Chevy has never been afraid to offer massive discounts to lure in the buyers, and its tactic has worked, with the Camaro outselling the Mustang for the first time in 23 months.

I am a fan of the manual transmission, but there is no denying the fact that today’s paddle-shifted automatics are faster at the track than a manual. Now, word has surfaced that Ford may be planning to offer a dual-clutch automatic transmission for the Shelby GT350 and GT350R, both currently offered with only a 6-speed manual.

The owner of this slick little Black Porsche Cayman took the car and decided to remove the stock flat six. I can only assume that reason was that the Porsche engine broke and it cost too much to fix.

Shelby vehicles have never exactly been a bargain. When you stop and look at the parts that go into one of its builds, you can certainly buy them off the shelf and save big money. The catch is that the DIY route doesn’t get you the Shelby name.

If there weren’t already enough reasons to visit the Mustang Club of America’s upcoming 40th anniversary celebration at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this September, we now have one more. Pony car fans in attendance will get to see the premiere of a life-size LEGO model of the classic 1964½ Ford Mustang.

The team at Goodwood Road & Racing selected seven vehicles for a video celebrating the best sounding cars of the 2016 Festival of Speed. The competition is fierce. The lineup includes the McLaren P1 LM, the Hepworth GB1 Can-Am car, the Honda Ra 300, Mad Mike Whiddett’s Red Bull turbo Mazda RX-8 drift car, Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s

If you were into Mustangs back in 2000, the one you wanted with the most ferocity was the Cobra R. It was an insane beast of a Mustang that commanded about twice the asking price of a normal Mustang at around $55,000.

Ford has been giving cars up to the auction block to raise money for charity for years. This year, to help raise funds for the EAA Youth Education program, they are turning up with a very special Mustang.

Hennessey Performance has unveiled a wild performance car to celebrate their 25th anniversary. The car is the 25th Anniversary Edition HPE800 Ford Mustang. Limited to just 25 vehicles, it makes 804 hp and 648 lb-ft. of torque.

For many years, the Texas Department of Public Safety used Mustang LX 5.0 notchback cars as patrol vehicles. These days they use big four-door cars for pursuit and patrol like the Dodge Charger. In the UK, the police are currently considering using the latest generation Ford Mustang GT as a patrol car.
