The automotive world seems to have gone crazy for fuel economy numbers, though the typical sports car or muscle car buyer probably doesn’t consider them a priority. The EPA fuel efficiency numbers for the 2022 Subaru WRX have been announced, and they aren’t very good.

The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban are the first full-size SUVs in their class to offer turbodiesel power. Chevy offers the 3.0-liter Duramax inline-six-cylinder engine as a fuel-efficient alternative to the standard 5.3-liter or upgraded 6.2-liter V8.

Nissan has a new Titan pickup coming soon that is dubbed the Titan XD, and the truck will have the option of a Cummins turbo-diesel engine under the hood. Because of its size, the Titan XD is exempt from EPA fuel economy ratings.

A couple of people from the Honda Europe R&D team have laid claim to an impressive Guinness World Record for fuel economy in the real world. The team used a Civic Tourer 1.6 i-DTEC car to drive across all 24 contiguous EU countries while achieving 100.31 mpg with its stock diesel engine.
