McLaren 675LT’s Engine Sounds Suspiciously Like “Casta Diva”
Most engines make a fairly predictable sound, because that sound is made up of hundreds of tiny bangs and the occasional whine and pop. If the car in question is the McLaren P1, it also manages to make a billion bizarre spaceship sounds, which left us hoping that the 675LT might have a distinctive sound as well. As it turns out, it seems that while the engine sounds like a nicely tuned turbocharged V8 at high revs, it sounds absolutely identical to “Casta Diva” from Bellini’s immortal opera Norma.

The German engineering firm EDAG will be headed to the Geneva Motor Show with a radical new lightweight concept car, the EDAG Light Cocoon. The car’s body panels may look unlike anything else on the road and that’s for a good reason: they are constructed of a skeleton-like organic structure wrapped in a fabric membrane.

The design and coachbuilding group at Rinspeed will be bringing a new autonomous vehicle to the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Budii. Rinspeed describes the new concept car as a “friend on wheels,” with the ability to learn each day based on its environment and experiences.
