Honda Civic Type R

Gearheads thinking about buying a Civic Type R now have another variant to consider now with Honda’s announcement of the 2021 Civic Type R Limited Edition. The vehicle comes coated in an exclusive Phoenix Yellow color.

What is there to say about the Honda Civic Type R that hasn’t already been said? It’s lightning quick, only comes with a manual and a clutch pedal, can stow all sorts of stuff inside its oh-so practical Honda hatch, and looks like a high school kid’s rendition of what a tuned Japanese rocket ship should look like in real life.

I’ll just start out by saying this: The Honda Civic Type R Pickup concept isn’t pretty. It’s sort of like a couple of attractive people had a baby that turned out to be ugly. It looks like the bastard love child of a Civic Type R and a Ridgeline, and I don’t like it at all.

Pulled straight from the purpose-built performance pages at Honda, the Civic Type R emerges onto the scene amidst great fanfare. It’s the first time in history that America has been offered the Civic with a factory R-rating, and although the PG-13 enthusiasm I felt for the all-new Si was indeed genuine, my thirst for more adult material remained unsatiated. 

JAS Motorsports has announced that in 2018 it will be introducing a race car based on the new Honda Civic Type R. The car has a completely revamped exterior design and aerodynamic package to cut drag and improve downforce.

One of the things that many who are waiting for the new Honda Civic Type R want to know in the worst way is how much the car will cost. Someone working down at the port where the first cars were delivered decided to take some photos and post them on the Civicx.com

The coolest car that Honda has rolled out under its own name in a long time is the new Civic Type R, and unless you live in a cave somewhere, you know that this Type R is actually coming to the US.

Honda has announced that it will have a “close to production” model of the sweet new Civic Type-R on hand the Geneva Auto Show. At the show last year Honda showed off a prototype of the car.

Normally when someone talks to me about a Honda, I lose interest immediately because with the exception of the Acura-branded NSX, Honda has nothing at all of interest to the average auto enthusiast. That is unless you are into cars that start out really slow and boring that you can modify, like a stock Civic.

Honda recently unleashed the new Civic Type R on five of the most famous European racing circuits, and has walked away with what it calls “benchmark” times at all of the tracks for a front-wheel drive car.
