With vehicles like the Palisade, Sonata, Kona, and Veloster N in its current line-up, there’s never been a better time to own a Hyundai. For 2022, the Korean automaker completely revamped its popular Tucson compact SUV, making it more stylish, comfortable, versatile, and quicker.

When it comes to daily drivers, most Americans are choosing SUVs these days. Of all the vehicles that Hyundai offers in the US, its best-selling model is the Tucson SUV. After teasing for weeks, Hyundai has finally unveiled the all-new 2022 Tucson, and it’s larger than the outgoing model offering more passenger and cargo volume.

Hyundai has gone from being labeled as the unreliable Korean alternative to world-class contender in record time. Like all success stories, there were some early year growing pains, as well as some awkward teenage moments (anyone else remember the Veracruz?),

Hyundai has unveiled a SEMA car that you actually will be able to own in a few months. The vehicle is called the Tucson Night model and is decidedly more sporty than the stock Tucson, with blacked out bits throughout, special Rays black wheels, a black tinted panoramic roof, and black mirror caps.

Hyundai is teasing another custom Tucson that will be on display at the SEMA show next month. Previous Tucson SUVs that we have seen have focused on street performance, like the 700hp Brute Ute. This time out, the Tucson is aimed directly at the off-road, off-grid adventurers.

Hyundai makes perfectly serviceable cars, and if that sounds boring, it’s because most of them are. I rather like the styling of the Veloster, but that’s about it. Hyundai has taken one of its more stealthy models, the Tucson compact SUV, and hopped it up into a beast for SEMA 2015.

In the burgeoning world of crossovers, a new member taking to the fray isn’t exactly surprising. It’s like adding another “Housewives of ___” series, really. So, Hyundai’s wholly new Tucson doesn’t exactly call for the 21-gun salute as it steps onto the stage, since everyone and their automotive journalist brother has expected the new CUV for quite a while.
