Revealed at the 1969 Turin Motor Show, Bertone showed off this wild ride which looks a bit like what might have happened if Speed Racer’s Mach 5 mated with a powerboat. The car was designed by Marcello Gandini, and was powered by mid- mounted 1.1L 

I’ve seen quite a variety of cars in my lifetime, but none so ridiculously cute as this 1973 Ferves Ranger. This oddball little green car is just one of 600 of the vehicles ever made, and it’s going up for auction soon.

You may think Lamborghini building an SUV is a stupid idea. You might even think that the Lamborghini Urus would be the first SUV from the Italian exotic carmaker, but you would be wrong. Lambo had a big and brawny SUV back in the ’80s and early ’90s called the LM002.

Another boutique European automaker has popped onto the scene with a concept supercar, and this time it’s supposed to be an all-electric model. Designed by Giuseppe Ferrazzano for Italy’s Tecnicar srl, the Lavinia is targeting a 588kW electric drivetrain which can output 800 horsepower, and do 0-to-62mph in just 3.5

Yet another amazing car has surfaced at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, this time the result of a collaboration between Lamborghini and coachbuilder Zagato, built to celebrate Zagato’s 95th anniversary. This custom-built car was commissioned by Lamborghini collector Albert Spiess, and blends the high-tech styling of Lamborghini’s latest vehicles with curvaceous, classic Italian elements.

The Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 is one sweet looking and able-bodied beast, and with a 610hp, V10 engine and a top speed of 205mph, it can probably outrun just about any police car – at least outside of Dubai.

One of the lesser known gems to turn up at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show is the Ermini Seittosei 686. Created by a boutique automaker in Florence, Italy, this sporty two-seater gets its name from its svelte 686kg.

What happens when you take the 1000cc engine from a Suzuki GSX-R1000 sports bike and stick it into the chassis of a Fiat X1/9? Long in the works, the Mazzanti Evantra V8 is one of those elusive supercar designs that has been shown numerous times in rendered and prototype forms, but we didn’t know if or when we’d see the actual car driving on a road.
