Jaguar E-type

For the 60th anniversary of the iconic Jaguar E-type, Jaguar Classic is releasing a limited-edition of six matched pairs of restored 3.8 E-types: the iconic 9600 HP fixed-head coupe and 77 RW roadster originally launched at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show.

A mashup of classic sports car lines and style with a modern powertrain is very appealing to many of us. Now, Jaguar Classic is taking that to the next level with the confirmation that it will produce a version of its iconic E-Type that packs an electric powertrain inside.

The E-Type experts over at Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works have scoured the world looking for the best candidates, to fully restore to their original glory. The program is called E-Type Reborn. The first of these cars is a beautiful Opalescent Gunmetal Grey Series 1 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe.

The team at UK auto shop Eagle have a one-track mind, and it’s focused exclusively on Jaguar E-types. For more than three decades, Eagle has been restoring these exquisite cars, and they have now completed their trilogy of special edition E-types with the Eagle Spyder GT.

What does Enzo Ferrari, the figurehead of some of the most beautiful pieces of automotive art ever created have to do with a Jaguar? Upon the release of the Jaguar E-Type, Enzo Ferrari said that it was “the most beautiful car ever made.”

If you ask anybody who knows cars what the most beautiful car ever made was, there’s a damn good chance you’ll hear the words “Jaguar E-Type.” Hell, even Enzo Ferrari thought the E-Type was the prettiest car of all time.
