Jaguar F-type

Friends of mine know that I’m a huge fan of the Jaguar F-TYPE. In fact, I daily drive one of these British beauties – a 2014 V8S convertible in Firesand Orange. I’ve gone as far as ECU tuning my car for a few extra horses too.

As an owner of an original 2014 Jaguar F-TYPE, I’m particularly fond of Ian Callum’s nearly perfect original design. But as time marches on, so must automotive design. For the 2021 model year, the F-TYPE gets a new face, upgraded technology, and the high-end R models even get a performance boost.

Jaguar has taken its very sexy F-TYPE convertible, and transformed it into a fantastic looking rally racing car. The conversion involved a 1.6-inch suspension lift, 16-inch gravel tires, softer springs, and three-way dampers from Exe-TB. The car started life as a base F-TYPE with a turbo four packing 296hp. 

Jaguar has announced a new limited-edition variant of F-TYPE, dubbed the Chequered Flag. This car is meant to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the launch of the famed XK120 sports car back in 1948. The car will be offered in coupe and convertible forms, with three engine options.

Jaguar has announced a new no-cost option for its sweet 575 horsepower F-Type SVR. The graphics pack adds decals in a contrasting color to the main body. There are six color options available including Yulong White with Firenze Red accents, Santorini Black and Gold, Corris Grey and Ultra Blue, Caldera Red and Black, Ultra Blue and Corris Grey, and Indus Silver and Black.

Bowler has been making some awesome rally trucks over the years, with the current version being the Bowler Bulldog. Normally this truck gets a rather ordinary 3.0L diesel V6 engine under the hood making 300 hp and 515 lb-ft of torque.

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of the Jaguar F-TYPE. In fact, I’ve been daily driving an F-TYPE V8 S since 2014, and it’s as awesome as the day it rolled out of the dealership.

The Jaguar F-Type is a fast and beautiful piece of machinery. While it might be a few years old now, it’s still one of the most beautiful cars on sale and if you don’t agree with me you’re just wrong.

Looks like Michelle Rodriguez doesn’t just play a gearhead on the big screen alongside Vin Diesel. The Fast & Furious actress set her own personal landspeed record in a sleek Jaguar F-Type SVR on closed down Nevada highway 318, site of the so-called “world’s fastest road race,” the Silver State Classic Challenge.

Easily, the coolest car that Jaguar has made in decades is the F-TYPE. There are multiple special versions of the car each faster than the last. Jag has announced that the baddest of all F-TYPEs will make its official debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

Given the fact that my daily driver is a Jaguar F-Type, you might say I’ve got a bit of a bias towards this instant classic British sports car. And in the two years since Jaguar first released the F-Type, it’s continued to up its game, adding all-wheel drive, electric power steering, torque vectoring, and even offering a manual transmission model for purists.

To call Jaguar sales tepid in comparison to the sport/luxury juggernaut, BMW, would be a serious understatement. In 2014, Jag sold just north of 450,000 cars, while BMW ran away with 1.8 million units worldwide. But you’d never guess that by taking one look at the Jaguar F-Type R AWD Coupe.

I don’t know about you, but I can watch Shaguars (as Austin Powers says), or… Jaguars race around a track all day. Especially when it’s the F-Type going all-out on the Nürburgring. Thanks to YouTuber cvdzijden, we have this video of F-Type prototypes tackling the storied German track.
