Over the last several years, Lincoln has worked diligently to become relevant to today’s buyers, bringing to market a series of cars which have finally started to differentiate themselves from their Ford counterparts, and to compete with European and Japanese luxury car makers. 

I had sticker shock, too. $63,415 is a lot to swallow for a Lincoln. But over the course of a week, I began to understand this SUV a little better. Lincoln is still one of those brands that, to me at least, is still re-developing its identity.

Some people are surprised that the Lincoln brand is still around. It’s certainly had some down years, but it’s still Ford’s luxury brand. Competing in the ultra-competitive luxury segment against the likes of Cadillac, Lexus, and the German brands means a crowded field.
