This ain’t your father’s Lincoln. The aerodynamic silhouette of the all-electric Lincoln Star Concept reveals the brand’s vision for connected, electrified vehicles by showcasing futuristic style, flexible electrical architecture, evolved Quiet Flight DNA, unique passenger luxury, and amenities including sights, sounds, and even scents to create a cabin sanctuary.

I’ll go on record now and say that the 1990s wasn’t exactly my favorite decade for automotive design. Cars became more and more homogeneous in style, and mediocre performance seemed to be the name of the game during those days, with none-too-thrilling cars like the Dodge Neon, the Pontiac Trans Sport, and the Ford Tempo.

One of the most attractive luxury SUVs available in the Lincoln Corsair. A new rumor is going around that claims an electric version of the Corsair will launch as a 2026 model. Ford has made it clear that Lincoln is part of its electrification plans, and the rumor suggests the vehicle will be built at Ford’s Oakville, Ontario, Canada factory.

I’ve often said that the 1980s and 1990s were the worst decades for automotive design and performance. So many of the cars produced in that era were either boring boxes or bubbly blobs, often with anemic drivetrains.

I’ve seen some incredible car stunts over the years, but this insane footage from 1976 might just take the cake. Some 40 years ago, stunt driver Kenny Powers (no, not that Kenny Powers) attempted to drive a rocket-powered Lincoln Continental off a 10 story-tall ramp and fly one mile across the St.

Just the other day, Lincoln teased fans with the possible return of its iconic coach (aka “suicide”) doors. Now, the tease has become reality with Lincoln pulling the wraps off the 2019 Lincoln Continental Coach Edition.

Think about the Lincoln of modern times, and if you aren’t a grandparent, the cars likely hold little appeal. While their new cars are elegant, they have strayed far away from the cool design features of yore that made the brand so desirable.

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator is gigantic luxury SUV aimed squarely at the livery market, but that didn’t stop the madmen at Hennessey Performance from transforming the vehicle into a powerful beast capable of hitting 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds.

The Lincoln MKC is one of those really solid small SUVs that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. I’ve driven a couple of them before, and it’s an especially good ride when equipped with the more powerful 2.3-liter engine.

Lincoln has unveiled the new 2018 Lincoln Navigator, and the big 7-seater is very attractive indeed. The all-new full-size SUV promises “quiet luxury” and has very cool styling, including a bold and imposing version of Lincoln’s new trademark grille.

It’s been a long time since we saw the Lincoln Continental at dealerships. The last time a new Continental was on the road, George W. Bush was President, a musical won the Oscar, but it wasn’t La La Land, it was Chicago, Friends and ER were dominating Must See TV, and Netflix wasn’t even a thing.

Over the last several years, Lincoln has worked diligently to become relevant to today’s buyers, bringing to market a series of cars which have finally started to differentiate themselves from their Ford counterparts, and to compete with European and Japanese luxury car makers. 

I had sticker shock, too. $63,415 is a lot to swallow for a Lincoln. But over the course of a week, I began to understand this SUV a little better. Lincoln is still one of those brands that, to me at least, is still re-developing its identity.

Some people are surprised that the Lincoln brand is still around. It’s certainly had some down years, but it’s still Ford’s luxury brand. Competing in the ultra-competitive luxury segment against the likes of Cadillac, Lexus, and the German brands means a crowded field.

Lincoln is showing off a Navigator concept at the 2016 New York Auto Show that probably shows a bit of what we can expect to see in the 2018 Navigator when it debuts. While elements like the grille and sleek roof design will probably make it into production, there are some design elements that almost certainly won’t see the light of day.
