It’s common knowledge that Mazda is planning to release a redesigned version of its classic MX-5 Miata roadster by the 2016 model year. While we wait patiently for Mazda to release images and details on the new design, we just have to use our imagination.

Mazda is celebrating 25 years since the debut of it’s wonderful two-door convertible, the MX-5 Miata. The company has just announced pre-order availability of the 2015 MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition. Beginning on May 20, 2014, the pre-order system will be available to allow interested buyers to add their names to the queue for one of the 100 special-edition roadsters.

Stevan McAleer didn’t have the starting position he wanted at the Continental Tire Series race at Sebring International Raceway. Although he had the fastest qualifying time, a technical issue during the post-qualifying inspection meant he started in the last position.

We’ve seen some video from a crazy attraction in India where daredevils and lunatics drive motorcycles and beaters at high enough speeds to get them to cling to the wall of a cylindrical room. It turns out that Mazda attempted the same stunt on with one of its spritely little Mazda2 subcompacts a couple of years back, and it’s quite a sight.

2014 marks the 25th year of Mazda’s two-seat roadster, the wonderful MX-5 Miata. In the 1980s, Mazda had the vision of resurrecting the two-seat, open-top roadsters that had been so popular in the 1960s and 1970s, and the result was the MX-5 Miata. 

At the 2013 SEMA show, Mazda showed off Club Sport treatments of both the Mazda3 and Mazda6 cars. The two custom models were created to celebrate Mazda’s motorsport heritage. The Mazda3 Club Sport contains a Mazda-Design accessory aero kit that is made to be fitted to all 2014 Mazda3 models.

While the Mazda3 on its own isn’t what we’d call a sporty car, the company managed to make a good showing at the 2013 SEMA show with this tricked out concept which looks less like your neighborhood pizza delivery vehicle and more like a serious hot hatch.
