The first time I laid eyes on the Mercedes-Benz E400 Coupe at last year’s Chicago Auto Show, I absolutely fell in love with the styling of this elegant vehicle, both inside and out. From its muscular and confident stance, to its dramatic faceted grille, the E400 just exudes substance and power from every angle.

Mercedes-Benz has debuted its new E-Class Cabriolet. The car is designed to have a silhouette that is similar to the E-Class Coupe, only with a drop top. Up front is a dramatic grille with bright LED performance headlamps (or optional Multibeam LED headlamps), and around back the LED taillamps are designed to resemble the glow of a jet engine.

It hasn’t been long at all since VW kicked off production on its Alltrack, making a wagon with the prowess and utility of an SUV, while being more car-like to drive. Mercedes-Benz has now stepped into that same category with a new ride for folks that like the idea of a more capable wagon in a more luxurious package.

There’s probably a certain kind of driving that you, as a gearhead, genuinely wishes you had an autonomous car for: long stints of highway driving. I love my short morning drive to work. There are a good number of mostly empty roundabouts that make going to work feel a little like an autocross course.
