Yes, what you see in these images is a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T that has been converted into a pickup. It looks like a modern Chevrolet El Camino, which, depending on how you feel about utes, is either a good thing or a bad thing.

Could there be a better way to close out 2018 than with a week-long review of Ford’s brilliantly revised Pony Car? Actually there is, and it’s called the Mustang GT Performance Package 2. When I first drove the new GT back in 2017, I was deeply impressed by the heavily revised Mustang. 

To meet strict government fuel economy regulations, automakers are feeling a lot of pressure to slim down cars, and move away from gas slurping V8s to smaller engines. The Dodge Charger in its current form is a massive beast tipping the scales at up to 4,000 to 4,500 pounds, and is powered by a beefy V8 in some forms.

In the racing world, the faster your car goes the more safety gear you need. You might think that means that a muscle car would be at least as safe as boring sedans. In some cases, you would be right, but in others, you would be dead wrong.

The rivalry between the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, and Dodge Challenger has been going on for decades. These cars routinely meet on racetracks to battle to see who is fastest and the manufacturers duke it out in sales numbers on the showroom floors around the country.
