Ford has been into stock-car racing for many years, and as part of NASCAR’s Next Gen initiative, has unveiled its all-new 2022 Next Gen Mustang. The car was unveiled this week at a ceremony in Charlotte, North Carolina.

I never understood why with the Mustang in its line, Ford always raced daily drivers like the Fusion in the main NASCAR series. That is changing with Ford unveiling the Mustang NASCAR racer that will aim to dominate the track in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in 2019.

Toyota has made it official that it will be racing the new Supra in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) starting in the 2019 season. The Japanese car maker says that it worked with subsidiaries TRD (Toyota Racing Development) and Calty Design Research Inc.

Just one look at this insane mashup will stir many emotions. My first thought was, “wow, that’s awesome.” But then I quickly started to wonder if there would be just too many compromises for this hybrid Land Rover Defender stock car to make any sense at all.

Chevrolet unveiled a new special edition of the Silverado truck at a recent NASCAR race at the Texas Motor Speedway. The special edition truck is called the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Rally Edition and it is essentially the same Silverado we are used to with some stripes and new wheels.

I’ve spent the last few days driving a Chevrolet SS from Chicago to Daytona to cheer on Team Chevy as they race for victory in the 2016 Daytona 500. While the pro drivers will take to the track in their 725 hp NASCAR Chevy SS race cars, the 415 hp production SS remained on the public roads for the duration of my trip.

It’s one of my favorite scenes from any movie – when the razor-toothed flying rabbit rips apart a bunch of knights in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. And that’s exactly what I was thinking was going to happen when I watched this video of a wily hare that managed to stop a NASCAR Truck series practice the other day at Tennessee’s Bristol Motor Speedway.

I’m not a fan of NASCAR racing in its current form at all. I get rather bored of watching custom-built, fake-bodied cars run around an oval track all day. I can appreciate the skill it takes the drivers to race in a pack at 200 mph though.

While most people associate National Donut Day with consuming mass quantities of carbs, fat and sugar, us gearheads have a different connotation for the word that’s just as much fun… and with none of the calories!

NASCAR fans can be nasty, and a lot of them hate Jeff Gordon. I hate Jeff Gordon, too. Why? Because I root for Dale Earnhardt Jr., period (and yes I know they are teammates). But in NASCAR, your driver is your driver, and everyone else is just in the way.

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! The 2014 Brickyard 400 is happening at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway over the weekend of July 27 and the promoters of the event have created one of the greatest television commercials ever to promote it.

This very special 1970 Ford Torino King Cobra prototype vehicle is just one of two ever made. Designed as a test mule for Ford’s NASCAR performance racing tech, the car is powered by a 700hp Boss 429 Hemi Head V8 engine with a Toploader 4-speed manual gearbox.
