About a month ago, I mentioned the 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.8 that was heading to auction with only 6 miles on the odometer. That car finally crossed the auction block and it sold for a cool $2.25 million.

LEGO cars aren’t the most sturdy things out there. I know because I’ve bounced more than a few LEGO constructs off a playmate’s head back in the day. Sometimes you gotta smack down a jerk who takes your wheels.

Of all the racing liveries out there, the Martini designs are some of the coolest of all time. A Bonhams auction coming up at Spa Francorchamps will have a pair of very cool Martini-liveried vehicles up for auction.

The Porsche 911 is one of the longest running sports car lines in history. While it might have taken some time to get there,  the 1 millionth Porsche 911 recently rolled off the assembly line. The car is an homage to the 1963 original.

Porsche has some of the coolest GT cars in the world, with the Cayman GT4 and the Porsche 911 GT3. When it comes to its SUVs, there’s the Cayenne GTS and Macan GTS but that is as close as we will ever get to a GT version of the SUVs.

For a while, I’ve been worried that Porsche might be completely ditching the traditional manual transmission in favor of its paddle-shifted “doppelkupplung” dual clutch transmission. So far the manual has remained in some of the high-end 911 models.

Porsche has taken the new 911 GT3 to the legendary Green Hell that is the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The first day the new car was at the track, it handily beat the outgoing 911 GT3’s lap time by 12.3 seconds – an impressive gain. 

I’ve never understood how people can buy an awesome car like this 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.8, and then never drive it. While this example isn’t exactly pristine, it’s still in its factory Cosmoline.There were only 51 Carrera RSR cars built and this one is fully custom.

Porsche’s official sales and profit numbers have been announced for 2016, they saw a massive increase compared to 2015. Porsche sold 238,000 vehicles during 2016, and recorded $4.1 billion in operating profit. Those are gains of 14% from last year.

Porsche has rolled out the new hybrid edition of its performance sedan called the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. The car has serious muscle under the hood and between its wheels with 680 hp and 626 lb-ft.

Gemballa has announced that the third generation of its 911 Turbo custom called the Avalanche will go on display at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The new Avalanche is based on the Porsche 991 Turbo. Other than the wild and cool purple body and custom interior the car sports, it also has way more go under the hood, with Gemballa squeezing out an impressive 808 hp and 700 lb-ft. 

As a child of the ’80s, I was a huge Lee Majors fan. I mean he was the $6 Million Dollar Man and The Fall Guy after all. I still remember to this day talking my mom into taking me to the video store one Saturday morning and running across the single VHS copy of a relatively unknown Lee Majors movie from that early ’80s era called The Last Chase.

See this porsche 911 SC with the massive light bar on front? It recently participated in something called the Feste Nürburg, an event in which they think that the Nürburgring, lovingly called The Green Hell, isn’t hellish enough when driven the regular way.

Not much more than a year after it opened its Atlanta location, Porsche has opened its second Experience Center in the US, located just outside of Los Angeles in Carson, CA. While the East Coast location is the HQ for Porsche Cars North America, the new facility will serve as HQ for Porsche Motorsport North America.

It takes great skill to be a successful race car driver, even for an ably-bodied person. So I can’t imagine how many hurdles Nathalie McGloin had to overcome in order to race her Porsche, since she is paralyzed from the chest down.
