Each August, a very special car event is held in California known as Monterey Car Week. During that week, a number of smaller events are held, including a very special gathering known as “The Quail.” The Quail has some awesome examples of racing and racing inspired cars worth millions that will be on display this year.

The Porsche 718 Boxster S aims for addition by subtraction, swapping out two of its six cylinders for a 2.5-liter, flat-four turbo. Now the first drive videos are starting to roll out on the world’s car sites, and we can see this new powerplant in action.

Back in 1980, Porsche fielded three new racing cars in the Le Mans race with teams from Germany, US, and Great Britain behind the wheel of each ride. The car you see here is the British 924 GTP, which has been sitting dormant in a Porsche warehouse since it last raced.

Porsche is showing off a complete restoration that it did on a very special 911 2.5 S/T. This 911 has an important motorsports history behind it, as it was its class winner at the Le Mans race in 1972.

The ’80s were a dark time for many carmakers. It was an era that offered up numerous sports cars that had little in the way of performance. There were, however, a handful great cars from that era, and this sweet 1985 Porsche 911 is one of them.

As exciting as Porsches like the 911 R and the Cayman GT4 are, the new four-cylinder turbo Macan appears to be the exact opposite. I sort of dig the Macan GTS and Turbo, so I’m not hating on the Macan in general.

I know deep down that I’ll never own a Porsche 911 R, but the mere fact that this car exists makes me happy. In a world where everything is going automated and paddle-shifted, the 911 R gives the middle finger to all that tech and gets down to business with a manual transmission and no superfluous aero bits.

Porsche is set to release what might be its most enthusiast-focused model ever. The car is called the Porsche 911 R and it’s based on the 911 GT3, but it sheds all the extraneous stuff from that car in an effort to be pure.

Donut Media has produced a brilliant, but brief video showing the evolution of the Porsche 911 from 1964 to the present day. In ’94, the 911 cost a mere $6,490, weighed 2,380 pounds and had 130 horsepower.
