Puritalia

We recently posted some teaser video of the Puritalia 427, a new roadster/muscle car inspired by the classic Shelby Cobra, but with a modern drivetrain and technology. The car has now been fully revealed, and we’ve got some video footage courtesy of YouTuber NM2255.

While most of today’s Italian sports cars take the form of modern supercars like the Ferrari 458 or Lamborghini Huracan, Puritalia Automobili is looking to the past for their inspiration. Their upcoming Puritalia 427 looks like it was teleported from the 1960s, but infused with modern technology.

The Puritalia 427 is a sports car created as a tribute to the venerable Carroll Shelby roadster, as seen in the side-by-side image below, courtesy of Puritalia. Weighing just 2,400 pounds with a V8 engine under the hood, this Italian-built car looks very promising and could become a reality before long as the company moves into driving tests of its first model.
