A white Lexus RX450h SUV was recently spied leaving an Apple facility, and the car was festooned with sensors and other hardware. Presumably this is the autonomous car Apple has been rumored to be working on.

After eight years of work, Google’s self-driving car project – now known as Waymo is now ready to do what it has wanted to do since the initiative started-  carry passengers. The first passengers will get to ride Waymo customized Chrysler Pacifica vans in Phoenix, Arizona.

There have been some big changes in direction over at Google when it comes to the firm’s autonomous car project. Originally the plan was to build a car that didn’t have a steering wheel or pedals at all, offering full autonomy to its occupants.

I’ve learned quite a few things about Colorado drivers since relocating here from Texas a few months ago. The first thing is that drivers here seem stumped at exactly how a merging lane works. The other thing is that they like to drive about 90 mph on I-25 where the speed limit in most areas is 75 mph.

The Chevrolet Bolt is a neat little electric vehicle that announced a while back, but won’t go into full production until this October. It is also the car that GM and its recently-acquired Cruise Automation division have chosen to use as their autonomous test vehicles, with the hopes of eventually offering self-driving Lyft rides.
