With the delivery of its first 2021 F-150 pickups just around the corner, Ford has shared official specs for the payload and towing capacities for the truck, and each of its six available engines. The entry-level version of the 2021 F-150 uses a 3.3-liter V6 engine offering 1,985 lb.

While I’ve driven lots of pickup trucks over the years, I actually don’t have a ton of experience towing things behind them. Thanks to my recent experience driving the new 2020 GMC Sierra HD, I feel much more confident pulling a trailer behind a truck.

Ford has already told us that it’s serious about getting into electric vehicles, and is even planning on building an all-electric version of its popular F-150 pickup truck. Now, Ford is showing off a prototype of its electric F-150 by putting it to the test in a towing challenge.

Large, heavy-duty pickup trucks are tools that can be used to tow the heaviest of things. The new Silverado, for example, can tow up to 35,500 pounds when properly equipped in HD form. Does that mean that you need one of these heavy-duty tech wonders to tow your boat or camper?

“It’s about damn time,” should have been Ford’s product punchline for the F-150 Power Stroke pickup, because every time I spoke with someone about this diesel V6 option, they said the exact same thing. No comments on the color.

Put every ounce of ingenuity into building something special, and the results are guaranteed to impress. Nowhere is this adage more appropriate than within Ford’s latest lineup, especially when considering its completely overhauled models. Regardless of whether you are considering a microscopic GT/GT40 LEGO kit or a hulking F-150, The Blue Oval has something for everyone, and it’s only getting better as time progresses.

Jumping from the rugged Chevy Colorado ZR2 into the far larger and refined Silverado 1500 Z71 Redline was a wise decision. Although both trucks are quite different from one another in a myriad of ways, a line of GM comparisons and contrasts between the two demands to be drawn.

Ford is celebrating 100 years of pickup trucks this summer, and to memorialize this momentous occasion The Blue Oval has rolled out a series of updated F-150 offerings that demand to be discussed. For 40 consecutive years, the F-150 has been the best-selling truck in America, with 35 straight years of that earmarking it as the best-selling vehicle in the market… period.
