ABT is celebrating 125 years of making upgrades for people who just can’t accept their cars in stock form. The company has announced a modified version of the already potent Audi RS6, dubbed The Johann. It will produce 64 units of the fast Audi, each of them rocking a modified turbo V8 under the hood.

Ferrari’s SF90 Stradale is the most powerful road car the sports car maker has ever produced. It uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain that delivers 985 horsepower and 590 lb-ft. of torque. Many of us will never see one of these Ferraris in the wild, much less own or drive one.

Brabus has a long history of taking powerful Mercedes sports cars and making them perform to higher standards. The company has unveiled the new Brabus 800, which is based on the 2021 Mercedes-AMG E 63 S.

While our friends at AMS Performance spend most of their time turning fast Nissan GT-Rs into insanely fast Nissan GT-Rs, they do have a sense of humor too. Case in point, their side project – “Madness” – an old 1996 Chevrolet Caprice hearse that’s been souped up with a massive 1000 horsepower.

The C7 Corvette Stingray is already a powerful bit of kit, but out of the factory its V8 “only” puts out 460 horsepower. That clearly isn’t enough for some folks, as is evidenced by this impressive upgrade by Vengeance Racing.

If you think that performance tuning of road cars is something that only gearhead hackers do in their garages, you are sadly mistaken. After my recent visit to AMS Performance, I was completely taken aback by the amount of engineering skill and time that it takes to turn everyday sports cars into powerful, track-worthy beasts.
