Formula One legend Niki Lauda passed away in 2019. Now, a new hypercar has debuted that carries the famed racer’s name. The car is the Gordon Murray T.50S Niki Lauda. Beyond the tribute, there’s another reason the car carries the Lauda name.

Pagani makes some incredibly hyper hypercars. One of the vehicles that we know the Italian automaker is working on is a track-only beast called the Huayra R. The typical Huayra is powered by a Mercedes-AMG 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine.

Popular vehicles, like the Ford F-150, sell more than 10,000 units per week. But it took Lamborghini nine years to reach that number with its Aventador supercar. The Italian sportscar company recently announced that it produced chassis number 10,000, which is a high-end model destined for the Thai market.

Lamborghini has announced a limited-edition roadster version of its Sián hypercar. Both the Lamborghini Sián roadster and coupe represent the world’s first use of a supercapacitor in a hybrid electric drivetrain. Like the coupe, the roadster produces combined thermal and electric power of 819 hp.

At the same time that fuel economy and emissions are on the minds of many, Mercedes-AMG has announced that the demand for its impressive AMG vehicles packing potent 12-cylinder engines is so strong that it is expanding production of the V12 to a new facility.

I know automakers today can get as much power from smaller displacement turbo engines as they can from big V8s or even larger engines. I also know that flappy paddle transmissions are easier to drive every day and can even be faster on the track.
