The latest version of the Dodge Viper might be the best that Dodge has ever made, but the Viper still has a reputation as a car that really wants to kill you. We already know that the version of the Viper that we have now will go out of production soon.

Star Wars fans have been waiting for this week for months. The Force Awakens hits theaters on the 18th. To celebrate the release of the new film, Dodge has some special cars cruising the streets of Los Angeles.

We have a Dodge Viper club here in my area and I see them out driving around on occasion. A normal Viper is an impressive sight, but when the Viper ACR rolls by, I get really excited.

This week, I’m up in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, enjoying many awesome cars on the Road America track and on the country roads, thanks to the Midwest Automotive Media Association, and the many car manufacturers who participate in the MAMA Spring Rally.

The acronym at the end of the model name for the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR purportedly stands for “American Club Racer.” I think a more appropriate meaning for the abbreviation should be “Absolutely Crazy Racecar.” Viper fans have been salivating at the thought of this rebooted ACR since the MOPAR concept debuted at SEMA in 2014.

Roadkill is known for tweaking and wrecking clunkers and hot rods, but thanks to its new sponsor Dodge, the show got three cutting edge cars for its latest episode: the 707hp Challenger SRT Hellcat and Charger SRT Hellcat and the 645hp Viper GT.

The Dodge Viper has long been one of the most sought-after American sports cars. Powered by a massive 8.4-liter, 645 horsepower V10 engine accompanied by thrilling, if not a little intimidating ride dynamics, the Viper is a very special car for a very special kind of driver.

Considering how rare Vipers are of any model year, you might think owning a new Viper would be exclusive enough for most folks. Dodge doesn’t think so and it is set to roll out a new customization program starting next month to allow buyers to design their own car.

The team of auto restoration experts at DeanZ Rodz and Race Carz – who might have more ambition than sense – began with the shell of a 1967 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia and took it through an incredible restoration process.

Bring a Trailer discovered this 2003 Dodge Viper up for sale on Craigslist for just $14,900(USD). The only catch is it doesn’t have any body panels, bumpers, windshield, roof, side mirrors, and much more. The Viper was apparently in a front-end accident and was written off entirely by the insurer, so it now bears a salvage title.

Chrysler’s SRT group has created this limited edition, race-tuned 2014 SRT Viper TA. This V10-powered beast has the same engine as the rest of the Viper range, an 640hp, 600 lb-ft of torque 8.4L V10. But the Viper TA (“Time Attack”) Special Edition is intended to be the ultimate track-day package, adding a race-tuned Bilstein suspension, lightweight matte-black Sidewinder II wheels, with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, and advanced two-piece brake rotors from Brembo.
