Volkswagen Golf R

Volkswagen has unveiled the 2022 Golf R, hailing the vehicle as the most powerful and fastest version of the hot hatch ever offered. Based on the 8th-generation Golf, the new R features a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 315 horsepower, a gain of 27 horsepower over the outgoing version.

We don’t get as many hot hatches here in the US as I think we deserve, so we often have to live vicariously through folks in Europe to get our fix. Recently, the guys at UK car buying site carwow got their hands on five hot hatches and decided to line them up for a little drag race.
