Mercedes-AMG has announced that it has extensively updated its very cool E63 S sedan and wagon for 2021. We are firm believers that if we need anything in the performance car world, it’s more hopped up wagons.

This is one of those rare rides that is cool, while being mostly unattractive. The ride started life as a 1976 Porsche 924 and was put under the knife by Porsche tuners DP Motorsport. This particular car is said to be the only one DP Motorsport built that lacked the 944 bodywork.

If you’re into classic Mustangs, but aren’t a stickler for accurate restorations, then check out this customized pony car. This unusual car, dubbed “The Pony Express,” started out life as a regular 1965 Mustang, and has a custom-fabricated station wagon tail in place of the original rear window and trunk.

Those interested in going off road, but who don’t want an SUV might want to check out the new Volkswagen Golf Alltrack. Based on the Golf SpotWagen, the car seems to be aimed directly at the Subaru Outback, and looks similar in style and execution.

For a long time you could get the Subaru WRX in a sweet 5-door hatch version. Sadly, in recent model years the hatch version of the WRX was killed off. If you happen to live in Japan, you will be able to get hands on a new wagon known as the Levorg STI.

Growing up, my aunt had a giant ’70s station wagon; it was an Oldsmobile of some sort. It was ugly and gold, but it had this awesome seat in the far back that faced backwards so you could see out the back window.
