Winter Driving

When opportunity comes knocking it is often best to answer. Preferably with a hearty “Hell yeah!” and especially when it involves a Nissan 370Z that’s been converted into an over-sized snowmobile on steroids. This is exactly what happened to Nissan’s chief Truck and SUV Brand Communications specialist, Kevin Raftery; who upon accepting the offer to take the snow-throwing Fairlady Z out for a spin in the Grand Tetons, found himself assisting in the creation of Nissan’s latest video adventure.

With blizzard conditions ravaging the East Coast of the United States this week, it might be time to consider enrolling yourself in a school to learn proper winter driving techniques. And why learn in an everyday family car when you could instead join a supercar maker like Porsche or Lamborghini and learn in style.

Last year, the SR Auto Group created an incredible Lamborghini Aventador that was built to tackle snow-covered mountains. But you can experience driving an all-wheel drive Lamborghini through the snow yourself as part of Lamborghini’s Winter Accademia 2015.

Audi brought together some of Europe’s best chefs in the mountains of Italy to demonstrate their passion for cooking and to participate in the Audi Driving Experience. Part of the fun was taking the 560hp Audi RS6 Avant on to the ski slopes for a bit of slalom racing, hill climbing, and good old fashioned fun in the snow.

Since the Earth has apparently broken free from its orbit and is hurtling towards the cold, dark abyss, resulting in the United States experiencing Coldmageddon 2014, we thought now is a good time to refresh our winter driving skills.
