Loïc Maschi, the 19-year-old French owner of a gorgeous blue Fiat 850 Sport, fell in love with automobiles when he got his first model car at age six. Before he was even old enough to drive legally by himself, he found the Fiat online and bought it.

Awaiting his driver’s license, he decided to take the car apart, slowly disassembling it part by part. His parents said, “You’ll never put it back together again, you’re destroying it,” he recalls in this Petrolicious video. They said, “We’ll put it at the back of the garden and let it rot.”

Motivated, Maschi determined he would have the car ready for the famous Chantilly Arts & Elegance auto show. He took the car to a body shop, which returned it in worse shape than it had been. He got another body shop recommendation from a friend, and got the car ready in time for the Chantilly auto show, in front of the famous chateau on the grounds of the Domaine de Chantilly. “[My parents] met me during the day,” Maschi recalls, “and when they saw it, I was so proud.”
