Longest Powerslide Ever

We recently stumbled onto this video clip from a couple of years back, in which stunt driver Mauro Calo managed to put a Mercedes-Benz  C63 AMG sedan into an insanely long powerslide. The slide itself lasted for a bit over two minutes, as he kept his tires burning rubber for a distance of 1.44 miles around a circular track.

Despite holding out longer than we thought they would, it was eventually a tire that started to fail that brought his epic drift to an end. At the time, Calo broke the record for the world’s longest car powerslide. BMW would later do the same thing for a whopping 51 miles, but cheated by constantly wetting the tarmac, so Calo is still the winner in our book.
