If you ever go to a track day or know a person who does go to a track day, you have probably seen the old meme about understeer is where you hit the wall with your front end and oversteer is when you hit the wall with your rear-end. Well a pair of Nürburgring crash videos has surfaced that perfectly illustrate the difference between understeer and oversteer.

The first is a sexy Audi wagon that understeers straight into the wall. Thankfully, there isn’t much damage, other to the undies of driver and passenger. The second video is a BMW driver who oversteers his way into the wall.

Neither of these corning techniques look like they were ideal, and the track looked pretty wet for the Audi’s run. What’s really impressive though is how hard the BMW smashed its front end, and the car looks like it’s just fine on the surface.
