2015 Lexus RC F
Lexus officially unveiled the 2015 Lexus RC F Coupe at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show and the top-of-the-line performance coupe looks impressive. With a design inspired by the Lexus LFA supercar, a stacked quad exhaust, wide fender flares, and an aggressive front end with a giant spindle grille, it’s clearly not meant to be subtle.
Packing a 32-valve V8 under the hood, which Lexus tells us delivers “more than” 450 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. torque, the RC F is built for driving enthusiasts of all abilities. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through an 8-speed Sports Direct Shift transmission and a Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD) to ensure remarkable handling and performance. To help the RC F stick to the ground, the coupe has a front and rear coil-spring independent suspension, with monotube gas-filled shock absorbers and ball-jointed stabilizer bars. Furthermore, the active rear spoiler deploys at 50 mph and retracts at speeds under 25, helping the RC F hold the ground at higher speeds.
The exterior design shows off the large spindle grille with a subtle F-mesh pattern on the lower half. The hood air vent and front fender ducts aid in cooling performance and contribute to overall vehicle stability. The RC F is also available with an optional carbon fiber roof and rear spoiler.
On the inside, the RC F has Lexus’s all-new combination meters which provide a wide range of easy to read information for the various drive modes. The combination meters include a large centrally mounted tachometer that alters according to drive mode, digital and analog speedometer, differential torque vectoring monitor, G-Force meter, oil and water temperature gauges, mileage information and a stopwatch. The car also has Lexus’s new elliptical cross-section thick-grip steering wheel and all-new high back seats.
Note: the specs we have are preliminary from Lexus and we expect final specs before long.
