Infiniti Red Bull Racing drivers Daniel Ricciardo and current world champion Sebastian Vettel explain the rule changes for the 2014 Formula One season, with Ricciardo driving the new 2014 car and Vettel showing off his 2013 racer. This video does a great job of visually demonstrating the changes, from the smaller, more fuel efficient engines to the changes in aerodynamics. The Energy Recovery System is also enhanced to keep the cars going longer and is necessary because the amount of fuel the cars can carry is reduced for 2014.

The changes are intended to make the cars more efficient while also increasing safety. The big V8 engines of last year have been swapped out or smaller, 1.6-liter V6 engines, although the turbochargers have been bolted back in place. One change that will greatly impact the racing is that cars can only use 100 kilograms of fuel over the race, which will require the drivers and crews to be much more strategic and will change the way the cars drive.
