Apprentice-Built Škoda CitiJet Concept

Škoda let 16 young apprentices in their AUTO Vocational School take a turn at reworking the Škoda Citigo with the resulting CitiJet design concept being revealed at Wörthersee in Austria. The team was given free reign in creating the concept car and speaks about what the process was like and the challenges of creating a design concept as a team in this video.

The CitiJet is shown as a stylized, open-top version of the Citigo, with a metallic finish in blue and white and fitted with 16-inch wheels in either blue or white to complement the body colors. The team also added a hand-made rear spoiler, roll hoops behind the seats, and twin exhaust. Inside, the CitiJet begins with the Citigo SPORT’s interior with a Sports fabric design and a red, black, and white instrument panel. A special 300 watt audio system has been added along with blue LED lighting that responds to the music.

This is the first time Škoda has let a team of apprentices run free on a car design, and we think the result is pretty impressive.
