This R/C Car Goes as Fast as a Porsche 911 Turbo

Written by Paul Strauss | July 5, 2014

While it may not look like much from the outside, this remote-controlled vehicle is the fastest R/C model car ever created. Nic Case’s R/C Bullet was filmed hitting an insane top speed of 196.21mph during a recent run. To put that in perspective, a Porsche 911 Turbo S tops out at 197mph.

Case actually holds the current Guinness World Record for fastest battery-powered radio-controlled model car, with a speed of 171.96mph, and clearly this new build has smashed through that record. You may have to watch the video a few times to see the car, because if you blink, you might miss it.

The model car has a four-wheel electric drive system and is powered by a dozen 5,000 mAh li-Po batteries, and Nic credits over 100 contributors who helped him design, build and optimize his incredible car. He also hopes to make it go even faster, of course.
