You Can Now Get a Certified Pre-Owned Koenigsegg
When you hear the words “Certified Pre-Owned” you’re usually thinking about risk averse people who want affordable Japanese imports and entry-level BMWs. You pay a bit more, but you get an extended warranty, and a car that’s been thoroughly checked by the dealer. I thought it was worth it when I bought my Fit a few years ago. I had enough money for a decent, lightly-used car, and I knew that it was unlikely that more would be on the way, so I nabbed a CPO four years and 64,000 miles ago and it hasn’t needed a single repair.
If I were dropping seven figures on an insane Swedish hypercar, I might not be so worried about unexpected expenses down the road. Some people with Koenigsegg money must be concerned though, since the marque has announced a new CPO program called “Selected Certified Cars.” All the cars are inspected and refurbished by the factory and come with two years of free maintenance. There’s no word of whether or not there are significant cost savings compared to buying a new Koenigsegg.
