2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody: One Fat Cat

Dodge has unveiled a new version of the Hellcat that has dipped into the Demon parts bin. The SRT Hellcat Widebody has the flares from the Demon and they add 3.5-inches of width to the Hellcat, making room for some big 20″ x 11″ wheels.

Those are Devil’s Rim split-five spoke aluminum wheels, shod in 305/35ZR Pirelli P-Zero performance tires. All that extra tire helps the Widebody Hellcat achieve faster lap times than the standard Hellcat. In fact, Dodge says the Widebody bested the other Hellcat by 2 seconds on a 1.7-mile road course. It’s also a tenth of a second faster going from 0-to-60 and 3 tenths quicker to 1/4 mile than its brother thanks to its increased grip.

The Hellcat’s 707 hp 6.2-liter supercharged V8 HEMI carries over, but the Widebody also gets a new standard electric power steering system which is tuned specifically to improve handling, and offers selectable drive modes.

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody has an MSRP of $71,495 including the gas guzzler tax, plus a $1,095 destination fee. Orders start in July with deliveries kicking off in Q3 2017.
