2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Priced to Woo New Buyers

Like many things in the world, it seems that the cost of cars continues to edge ever higher. Say the name Mercedes-Benz to most folks car shopping, and the brand is passed over entirely due to price. That might not be the case anymore with Mercedes announcing that its starting price on the new entry-level A-Class will be just $32,500 in the US (before a $995 destination fee), which puts it squarely in the realm of “premium” cars, rather than higher priced “luxury” category that Mercedes usually falls into.

If you live in a colder weather state and want all-wheel-drive, the 4Matic version starts at $34,500. The Mercedes A 220 and A 220 4Matic feature the same inline-4 turbo engine making 188 hp and 221 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic

For the price, the standard equipment list is quite impressive. A 220 models get a standard panoramic roof, MBUX multimedia system with voice control, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The radio hs a 7-inch touchscreen, and the digital instrument cluster is a 7-inch unit. The car also features 17-inch wheels and LED headlights and taillights. An AMG Line and Night Package are options, along with a Multimedia Package that adds navigation. Keyless-Go and Hands-Free Access are available as well.
