2022 Hyundai Santa Fe to Get New XRT Trim Level

CarsDirect has revealed that a leaked Hyundai order guide includes a new trim level for its popular Santa Fe crossover line. The new variant is called the XRT, and it will sit between the SEL and Limited trims in the Santa Fe hierarchy. It’s unclear exactly what the trim will bring, but we do know it will have exclusive 18-inch dark two-tone alloy wheels, and only black cloth is available for the interior.

That seems to suggest the XRT might be a blacked-out trim level similar to Kia’s Nightfall Editions. Blacked-out trim levels are very popular these days, so that’s a distinct possibility. Power for the crossover will come from the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine used in the SEL, producing 191 horsepower and 182 lb-ft. of torque.

Hyundai will offer the XRT in front-wheel or all-wheel drivetrain configurations. The latter option adds $1700 to the base price of $32,380. However, that pricing doesn’t count the $1185 destination delivery charge. The price puts the XRT a little higher than the SEL, which starts at $29,000, and significantly lower than the Limited that starts at $38,960.
