This Volvo P1800 Drag Racer Could Become the Next Hot Wheels Car

Hot Wheels are some of the most popular toys made by Mattel, and the small-scale cars have been available for decades. They are collected by young and old alike, and some are wild futuristic cars while others are cars you could buy off the showroom floor right now. The Hot Wheels Legends Tour is currently underway to choose the next car that will become a toy car.

One of the more interesting vehicles in contention for that honor is this custom Volvo P1800, a car made famous by the 1960s TV series The Saint. The Swedish sports car started with a puny four-cylinder engine, but that has been replaced. The car, known as “Ain’t no Saint,” now has a supercharged Chevrolet 454 cubic engine V8 under the hood, making roughly 600 horsepower. It can run the quarter-mile in 10.01 seconds at 133 mph.

The car won the Hot Wheels Legends UK finals and will head to the semifinals planned for November 4, 2021. The finals which will choose the next Hot Wheels collectible car is set for November 13.
